Removed this part: CAN'T remember where it goes back!
Dudes. Dudettes.
I removed this part for powdercoating along with a whole mess of other things. Time has come to put it back and I can't remember where it goes, and I don't see it in any of my pictures. Any ideas? Oil line bracket, or something? Please help! Thanks! ![]() ![]() ![]()

Don't mean to beat a dead horse here, but this reminds me of those PCA meetings where someone brings in a "mystery" part and we have to guess what it's for.
One time, it was just something someone picked-up in the parking lot. Too funny. Of course, so were the responses.

That's what holds the muffler bearings in place on a 74 RSR and is made of unobtanium. Priceless piece you have there. Wanna sell it?
LOL. I really have no clue.

Maybe it's my Johnson Rod spacer. Or the bracket for my turbonator.

Attempt to put the car back together and if you don't find a use for it.. you don't need it.

It's a piston return spring clamp. It goes between the muffler bearing and the left handed smoke screen.
If your car is burning gas on the right side, you need to mount it on the right. If your car is burning gas on the left side, you need to mount it on the left. Or vice versa. It is a pretty simple application, depending on what side of your car is burning the most gas. Just remove the door handle and spot weld the return spring onto that side. It's magnetic and the springs will sense that. Don't weld it too close to the springs. Not only are they sensitive, but a piston return spring magnet welded too close to the piston will look stupid. You don't want that. |

That's the fetzer valve bracket. Prep that with some 3-in-1 oil and gauze pads.... it's all ball bearings nowadays...

30 wt. ball bearings.... plus you'll need some Prestone antifreeze. And don't forget to wipe the gook off that windshield.

Any chance at this point you might ask the powder painter if one his customers is missing a part? He probably wouldn't admit to it anyway...
