Clutch Bleeding Question
I don't have a pressure bleeder and have seen some home made versions using a spare resovior cap which I don't have. I'd really like to rig something up tonight to give pressure bleeding a try on the clutch slave with the pedal in the up position. I've try bleeding several times now pumping the pedal the old fashioned way with no success. I think I've still got some air in the line.
What about pulling off the over flow tube and about rigging up some tubing and air line fitings to pressurize at the overflow nipple rather than the cap? Any reason why that won't work? Anyone know the size of the nipple so I can pick up the right sized tubing & fitings on the way home? Thanks!

You certainly can use the overflow nipple location. The hose size listed in the parts diagrams appears to show the plastic tube that the overflow hose connects to is 5mm OD and 3mm ID? That sounds about right. I'd get some ~5mm ID hose and give it a try.
I've seen some people use garden sprayers for pressure bleeding. Also, don't forget you can vaccuum bleed the slave. You can probably pick up an el cheapo vaccuum bleeding kit from your local auto parts store like AutoZone.

Just completed bleeding the slave by pressuring through the overflow nipple and it worked great! The cap has a vent hole that will atomize the brake fluid if the pressure is set too high. About 20 psi seemed to work the best using this method.

Wish I'd seen this sooner, I have a power bleeder you could have used. Sounds like you got it worked out though. Andrew

No Problem, next time you're doing brakes let me know...besides I might need a P234 tool one day soon
![]() So when do you think you will be back on the road. If you're buttoning up CV joints...soon? By the way, where in Atlanta are you located. Andrew
