Just installed two quarter windows with my 12 year old son.
He has heard a few swear words he never heard before
![]() It is probably the most difficult job I've done, on par with the removal of the tie rods. No real tricks, a combination of (plastified) rope method and mechanical prying (baby knives are easily adaptable to meet your needs). Extremely satisfied that it's done.

well done and your son can file those swear words away until he needs them on his own projects.,

Garp,
It isn’t the window installation, it is all about doing things with your son. Keep up the good work. Best, Grady

I so hope my 8-year-old will want to work with his old man on the 911 too. He certainly likes the car enough. I love to hear about stuff like this - it seems like it's getting pretty rare these days.

Garp,
My youngest son Chris (now 24) and I had great fun with racing go-karts. He started at age 10. He was the hero race car driver and I was the lowly tow truck driver (with 935 & 917 experience). Try the threads on this search result: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/search.php?searchid=3868227 This was great and set the stage for continued positive interaction during the ‘teenage years’. This also made Chris a very safe driver on the street and competent in serious race cars (Mazda Pro Star). Best, Grady

Karting is where I hope to get my son started. We have a couple of lower-speed by-the-hour facilities around here, to which I will bring him to see if I can spark some interest.

When replacing the seals on 911 coupe fixed quarter windows, do you start at the front (door end) of the quarter window, or the rear end?
I'm using the standard soapy pull string method. Thanks. |

Garp, what was so difficult about it? Getting the seal onto the window, or installing the window in the car? I may need to do this myself pretty soon and I'd like to know what difficulties to expect.
