Are you sure that's the '86 paint code? Typically, it is a 3-digit code. Could be special order?

1986 911 Paint Codes:

Standard

india red L M3A
black L O41
alpine white L 90E
copenhagen blue L Y5B
pastel beige L M1N

Metallic

sapphire L Y5V
zermatt L Y7Y

mahogony brown L B8Z
crystal green L M6Y
garnet red L M3Y
calahari beige L A1Y
slate grey L A7U
graphite L B7V
pearl white L OA9

Paint Code for Mexico Blue (1974) is K5K5 K5V9 (also listed as "336" on some references):

What is the paint code that is on the label or the badge?
The K5K5 is marketingspeak and is not very useful.

Hi Ray,

I know I'm picking up a really old thread here, but did you ever get to the bottom of this? I have a 1985 930 Turbo (UK Spec RHD) and Porsche are telling me K5K5 paint code was the color from factory.. It's currently Dunkel Blue, but I think it's been resprayed - Is it in fact special order Mexico blue, or is K5K5 Dunkel from the 1985 period?

K5K5 was the dealer order code for Dark Blue on a coupe - K5V9 was for a Cabriolet with a Black top- K5V8 was a Cabriolet with a Blue top
