Can I fix this Clock?
I looked in the tech articles section, and found articles on 914 clock, but how about this one?
Can I open it up? Is it those three screws on the back? ![]() ![]() Then what happens inside there? Clean it , or check solder joints, etc.. ![]()

Yeap, three screws but also that copper flange needs to be de-soldered to release the back from the face.
But prior to doing that check for a short from a broken solder. Take a Digital Volt Meter in "Short" mode if there is a short you will know where to start. If there is no short it might be a broken or loose sprocket. Hope this helps, Jim

volt meter checks ok.
so the clock grounds to the case by that solder? I'll un-solder the copper disc, and take off the screws and see whats in there

Yes, the internals ground via that disc and finally thru the housing's ground terminal.

ok, got it all apart. An article I found explained to bend the edges of the front bezel to remove guts. It all looks squeaky clean and fine in there, no obviously broken anything.
I guess its time to look in the used parts for sale forum.

some people are deleting their clocks, and either covering up the hole...or fitting a more useful electronic unit in place of the clock. My clock works, but I'd like to put in one of those digital AFM gauges.
