Installing rear seat shoulder belts in an 85' Targa?

Does anyone know if this is possible? I've been looking at 88 and 89 Targas and they have them but a really nice 85 has popped up locally. I want to be able to take my son in the back on occasion but without shoulder restraints it's not possible.

TIA,

Lawrence

Anything is possible, but it may take welding plates/bolts on the opposite side of the fire wall.

Then rig up a belt/lap harness.

I see this would be worth the safety of your boy.

Precaution, Do Not give him anything to eat if you take him thru the canyons/hills. You will soon be wearing what he ate. Ask me how I know

LOL. Good advise on the food. I'm talking to shop tomorrow to find out what they think about the belts. If it can't be done properly then it's 88 and up...

I'm pretty sure the mounting points are there. you need to remove the back shelf . Call peparts for the belts.

I just had the rear deck off my my car. The shoulder belt mounting points are there. If I have them in my -84 you should have them in yours.

I need to do this also for my kids booster seats now that they are old enough..
