I have talked with a couple of guys who added a 2d outlet to their stock 3.2 muffler. I'm looking to do the same thing and add a pair of 993 tips. Any ideas on where I can find a stock tailpipe piece and a pair of 993 tips?

Measure the outlet and go to a muffler shop and they can make you one cheap. Keep in mind that the second outlet bypasses all the baffles and that muffler is going to be LOUD!

Yeah, a muffler shop is probably the cheapest way to go. I don't remember that modded muffler being overly loud or anything. It was a stock 3.2 with 2nd outlet on the right side. Looked pretty nice though and not expensive to do except for the stainless oveal tips, ~$180/pair new aftermarket. Maybe I can find them used or for less?

Search for my utlimate exhuast sound clip thread and you can hear mine, which is not dual out, but it is gutted, shortened, and lightened. Sound is not too bad on mine, but your setup would sound a little different of course.

I did a dual out and it sounded great! It was louder then the one oulet but not to loud.

On the stock 3.2 muffler the inlet tube has a lot of little holes in it as it goes all the way through the muffler can along the bottom and stops at the other end where it has a plug. This end can be seen inside the hole you will be cutting to add the second inlet pipe.
The stock tail pipe is mostly a straight through pipe that is is open and free flowing. If you just add the tail pipe you should not be that much louder as most the muffling will remain intake. If you want you can put holes in the plugged end or cut it out totally. Now you have a mostly straight through muffler and it will be loud. It should pick you up some HP. ![]() |

To turn the stock muffler into a single pipe sport muffler, must cut a hole in the bottom end, cut out that plug at the end of the tube with holes in it, and close/weld the muffler back up.
Note that it is double wall muffler. |

I would have many more exhaust options if my state would give up emmissions testing. In addition, it gets a little cold here sometimes so I need to keep the heat exchangers. If those 2 things weren't factored in I would probably choose a set of georges headers and and m&k 2in/2out muffler.
