Another fast turn signal post...

I wired up my side markers as per Daniel Stern's tech bulletin http://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/markerflash/markerflash.html
and all worked well initially.
Now the driver's side markers and signals flash fast.
Swapped bulbs side to side, with no difference
Re-checked wiring; side marker ground goes to the other side of signal lamp as per the diagram; continuity meter verifies connections.
Grounds all check out.
Hazard flashers flash properly, although driver front side signals/ markers look dimmer in a dark garage than do front passenger's.
Rear lights appear to have similar brightness side to side.
Any help diagnosing this would be appreciated.

John:

From my experience, your connector at the right rear turn signal unit may still be loose. They really need to be pushed in there firmly.

Good luck.

John,

My '86 3.2 factory manual shows the Porsche P/N 911 631 411 00 for the M553 side marker option.

The harness contains a SW/WS (black/white) and BR (brown wire) which connect to the front light assy.

If all you did was to correctly add the above part (SW/WS to GR/RT) to the front light assy,
also the BR wire to the BR wire on the headlight assy: then:

Your anomoly suggests a bad ground or power connection at one of the front light assy(s),
bulb/connector interface, or, as I recall from personal experience, an open filament on a
two filament bulb.

Try disconnecting all connections, including the bulbs, one side at a time from your
side marker addition(s).

This may isolate the issue to one side of the car.

Contact cleaner may be the answer.

pm me as needed.

Please let us know.

Good luck,

Gerry

I pulled it all apart...

..and rewired and re-crimped everything.
Works like a charm...try it!
