Accessing rear speakers for removal issue

Hello everyone.I purchased a 1984 -911 Targa Carrera 10 days ago(1st Porsche) and am having difficulty removing the rear panel(displayed with arrows pointing at removal screws)to get at the speakers to put back the original stock or better(speaker suggestions very welcome indeed). When I remove both bottom screws to the panel the bottom part pulls out slightly but the top remains firmly in place. Is there a trick to removing this panel? I hate to do damage to this beautiful vehicle.Thank you kindly and regards, Peter.

You need to also remove the screws at the top that hold the leather straps.

After all four screws/washers are removed there will be a retaining clip

in the back, halfway up, and in the center of the rear panel. With all four screws/washers removed, push up on the bottom of the panel to free it from the retaining clip. Good luck, Gerry
