Lsd question
Customer said he's been told that a 944 lsd will fit in a 901 trans with different side bearings? Anyone know if this is correct? I know 930 and 924 lsd are the same

915, 930 and 931 LSD are the same. Observe that 924 N/A uses "Audi" transmission thus only 931 (=924 Turbo with "snail" dogleg tranny and dodgy 915 innards) has 915/930 compatible diff.
Also, later 930/915 LSD's got fewer plates than old ones. 924 N/A and 944/968 use new "Audi" gearbox...I suspect theirs differentials cannot fit into 901. And if you go chasing rabbits And you know you're going to fall Tell 'em a hookah smoking caterpillar Has given you the call

944 differential will not fit in a 901. 944 is an 016 Audi gearbox, 901 is a Porsche box. Very different beasts. Feel free to contact me directly if I can be of further assistance.
