I just talked to Patrick Motorsports they looked up the factory torq requirement for the 10mm bolts and it said 44nm~ 34 ftlbs.

60ft lbs sounds to high to me...

For what year car? My 73 has the 10 mm bolt, and the factory manual says 60 foot pounds.

Those don't sound like 10mm bolts, more like 8mm ones

Thats because most 8mm bolts you come across on German cars are grade 8.8 hardness and they are gold or silver cadmium plated.

The next harder steel bolt is grade 10.9, and the 10mm CV bolts are grade 12.9 hardness.
You see those numbers on the head of German bolts.

12.9 bolts are rarely if ever plated and they are high carbon steel and dark grey in color.

60 - 63 ft lbs is what I've heard for the 10mm 12.9 hardness CV bolts and they should be clean with no oil on the threads.
