Thanks Guys. When I did this fix, I suspect that I did just what Sal has described, i.e., soldered the shield wire. I have been unable to resolve a “surging idle when warm” issue, and this may be the cause. I will work on finding a connector and then give it another go (this time being careful with the shield wire). Thanks again.

I need one also! Just saw this when looking for a Replacement

Found a place that makes them in the Netherlands but the Shipping is twice the cost of the part

Things are a LOT BETTER THERE NOW. I was able to buy the part and with shipping UPS cost $94 dollars total. The new part and the Shipping are now about equal. One will be here today and I will post a picture when I have it. Also do not try to buy with a Visa card any thing in the Netherlands! They list everyone as possible Fraud. Had to use my MasterCard and still go through some hoops but at least it was possible. The Credit Union that has the Visa I used called me yesterday and told me that they were able to get Koons off the Fraud list so it may be easier to try to use a Visa!!

Louie has not been active on the forum in years.

I believe the only source for O2 sensor connector now is Kroon Wire Harnesses. I put one on my car with great results!

https://www.kroonwireharnesses.com/o2-sensor-replacement-connector-with-high-quality-screened-cable-artno-o2conncable

They also sell quite a few grommets and other connectors that are difficult to find otherwise.

The Kroon connector comes with all the necessary components to splice the connector into the Porsche wiring harness (solder tubes, heat shrink, etc.). The only tools you need are a heat gun and wire cutters.

Here is Kroon's video on the install

My 1981 SC was running a little 'off', surging a bit, and just didn't feel quite right, like the fuel mixture was off. I looked around the engine bay and found that my 02 connector at the car end had cracked off as shown:

I had mine replaced at a dealer - the mechanic said that he had to dig into the wiring loom to properly reconnect the shield wires I believe and was alot more work than he expected. But my car runs WAY better now, and feels normal. I'm glad I didn't take on this work on my own.

if you google "O2 Sensor Connector, 911 (80-83)" you'll find this part from a current vendor with stock
