Aloha! New member-1979 911 SC

Aloha everyone-

This forum is great!

Have my first 911 finally after many Z cars and a 924 that died within a week. I love this car. I drive it to and from work everyday and I've never had a car that felt like this. I wasn't very smart about buying her, she has no records to speak of and I did no PPI. But when I drove her, it just felt right and here in Hawaii they can be hard to come by (at least a clean coupe is). I think I got lucky though, she starts up right away and sounds amazing. Of course there was some work to be done, brakes and ball joints and I need to fix some minor oil leaks.

I've always dreamed of owning one and I knew if I didn't get one then I knew some day I'd be on my deathbed and think " Damn,I should have bought a 911".

---David

Howzit brah!

WOW, nice ride. I am from LA, but originally from Big Island (Parker Ranch). I just noticed Oahu PCA had a show at Aloha Towers and pics were great. Where did you find this 911?

This board and the people who post are great resource for quality information, humor, support and fun. Nice to see the shot of Da China Mans Hat in the background.

Here is my Hawaiin Chocolate in LA. Let me know if you come to SoCal and we can hook up and take you to some of the killer car events we have every weekend.

QUESTION: I know if I had my 911 on the Big Island I could have a great run from Kona, up to Kohala, back down to Waimea, out to Honoka'a to Waipio Valley, back to main road to Hilo and the 3 Horse Shoe turns. One of my fnaatasy drives. As Oahu is so congested, where and when do you run your car to let it breathe at 6K RPM? ? ?

Aloha no David from a pineapple in Kentucky. That's the kind of pictures I had in my head when growing up in Hawaii.
Well done and enjoy.

Wow, thanks for all the greetings! In response to some questions/comments: Yes that is the Polynesian Cultural Center (1st 2 pix)...I missed the car show at Aloha tower...and I get to drive to and from work from Hauula to Kaneohe and back, a nice curvy stretch of oceanside highway that makes feel it doesn't get much better than this.
