What was the model year when the 3.0 litre engine started ?

Just come across a 911 3.0l from 76 for sale... This means it should be one of the somewhat rare Carrera 3.0 !

Just for checking, what are the VIN's for Carrera 3.0 ?

I'm not in the market, but just found what looks to be a very solid Euro Carrera 3.0 from 76...
I understand it's a somewhat rare version, what could be the market value for it ?

When i was shopping around for them over a year ago, they were running about 40-50% higher than an equal 911SC (comparing quality, upgrades, etc). Now, their claiming more than that, but I haven't been watching the pricing.

The 3.0 liter turbo was launched in 1974 as a ROW model.

This is the rarer 3.0 non turbo, never sold in the US

In Europe, I think the values can go much higher, for a really execptional car. My memory isn't what it used to be but I seem to recall asking prices as high as 40-50k Euros. That was for essentially perfect, restored cars. Here in the US, they are relatively unknown and don't command anything near as much. Yet.

Yes, and on that Carrera3 website, they've "tracked" prices over the past year in Europe. they keep finding these anomalously high sales prices, but I'm not sure if there is ever an actual transaction. I also think that they show those prices, because then people will begin to expect those prices, and it'll drive the entire 3.0 market up...which would, of course, make a bunch of 3.0 owners happy

That's possible but I tend to think that the better cars often trade privately and never make it to the general market. Also, I've sold several cars lately that fetched more than accepted book value, so a good car will always command a premium.
