This has little bearing on the problems above but it fixed my speed issue. I updated my DNS settings to use the servers suggested at DNSServerList.org. Pelican loads like a champ now.

Cool, glad to hear it. Since the problems last weekend, the forums have been running very well! (knock on wood).

Wayne..
Some more feedback on upgrade/changes.. Seems as though from my computer at work, the space to the left of the list of threads does not show the envelopes as usual, there are also white boxes with a red X rather than "the Porsche crest, thumbs-up, etc.. Smilies etc also appear as white boxes with red X in center. No problem with this from home computer. Also, used to scroll over the thread topic with the cursor and the opening phrase would display (kept me from clicking on a few) sort of like a "preview"... This only works now if logged on. Experience this from both computers... Hope this isn't permanent Thx the images directory of the site

About the same, with loading speeds and search speeds somewhat dependent on the time of day.
But then, I'm on the other side of the country, and my ISP may have some issues with high traffic periods. (Like just maybe they are trying to get their customers to upgrade to their higher speed & higher-cost service option). |
