need help locating dumb, insignificant part

hey guys and gals,

I need help finding a part. It is part # 911 555 757 40, described as a black plastic cap (cover) for the emergency control for the Cabriolet top. It is listed for $1.00 on Pelican, but is NLA.

obviously, this is just a cosmetic issue...but I'm trying to get this thing as dialed in as possible.

So if anybody has a line on one of these plastic thingamabobbers, I'd appreciate the hook-up.

Do you have a pic of what it looks like? Or a pic of the "hole"?

It's possible you could find something suitable at a really good hardware store. Ive found lots of interior trim bits/ colored screws etc. at my local hardware store.

OK, sounds good...hopefully, I'll be able to locate them via Google.

By the way, here's a pic of the part...still soliciting advice. Thanks in advance for your input.

I've found some similar plugs at Lowe's. Might get you by until you find the right one.

NLA Part

I have had success finding NLA parts at Porsche dealerships. Doesn't hurt to try.

I would like to say intelligence, but I think dumb luck. I ended up entering the name per the parts catalog into the search box. I recently ordered mine. Should be here this weekend.

dude, I spent about 30 minutes looking through our host's online catalog...only to find a different part number for a part listed as NLA. Duh.

Intelligence, dumb luck, whatever. You da man.

Here's the part where I rat you out. This was your 1st and 2nd post. I don't remember you posting any pix of your ride?

Kidrock - you got me good. I have been lurking for a few weeks. I just purchased a 1989 Carrera Cabriolet. I will post pictures soon. I am already busy replacing detail items like the piece you were looking for.
