I forgot to mention the A/C has been removed, The Heater blower also came out and the console has been removed. I will some pictures of that after I get the engine cleaned up after the body work. The bumpers will be ordered tomorrow.

Please let me know what will happen with the duck. I am local and interested...

ruby911 10-25-2009 03:58 PM

Looking forward to seeing this progress, keep us posted Don.

I feel like a guy stealing the boots off a dead guy before his body is even cold by asking this, but what are you doing with the fuchs?

Farrell

The duck is staying with my car....the Fuchs will be sold....but not the center caps....

ghnat 10-25-2009 04:07 PM

Can't hurt to ask. A wise choice, by the way...

Thanks for the kind words. I hope it turns out as good in real life as it looks in my imagination. Time and money will tell

Its going to be a couple days most likely before the next post....bumpers were ordered tonight. About the only thing I did yesterday was clean all the parts I removed and remove the mounting plate for the AC compressor. Now I have to figure out how to get the 930 left side heat duct to match up with the heat duct coming up to the engine compartment from the heat exchanger. Any ideas?

gtc 10-26-2009 03:43 PM

I've heard there is a piece of engine tin that moves the hole to a more appropriate place for the backdated heater ducts. I haven't been able to figure out the part number, though.
I simply used some 2.5" SCAT hose (which can bend in a pretty tight radius) to fit down through the original Carrera tin. Not the cleanest aesthetically, but it works fine.

stormmaster 10-26-2009 03:45 PM

SCAT hose?

craig356 10-26-2009 05:16 PM

Don, it keeping with the other scavengers, any interest in selling me your steel 7" wheels to help fund your project? ;)
tks, Craig

craig356 10-26-2009 05:30 PM

Oops...I meant the set of steel wheels, I assume the fronts are 6" and back are 7", correct? Anyway, if you have an interest in selling the set, let me know..I am local as well...tks, Craig

stormmaster 10-26-2009 05:31 PM

The steel wheels arent mine.....and they arent for sale.....all the other stuff that came off the car is though....lol. There will be a list of the parts soon on the parts for sale area.

Aircraft hose. I may have some left over or you can get it at a aircraft supply house. I got mine in Peachtree city.

Looking at the cars past I'm sure your finished product is going to look great.

Is your smoothed rear bumper going to be for sale?

stormmaster 10-26-2009 06:33 PM

Yes it will be for sale....with or without the bumperettes

stormmaster 10-31-2009 06:10 PM

Well....the front fenders are on....weather is too nasty to get any pictures....hopefully the front and rear bumpers will be here this week.

stormmaster 11-07-2009 08:54 AM

Weekend update: The test fitting has begun. The 930 Fenders are on....the Rear flares are just taped on until I get my new bumpers from TRE this week. Once they are mounted, I will take it to Rattlsnak for him to work his magic on mounting the flares.

The engine compartment wont be detailed until after all the body work is completed. Thought I would share the A/C delete and heater backdate photos anyway. It looks a lot better in there even though it is dirty. Lots more room to work.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1257616688.jpg
