Is there such a thing as a '68 S engine?
If so what would be the serial # range?
I thought that only a 911 and 911L where offered in 1968. |

Bill numbers are for 69. 68 were 4080001 to 4081549 , both were only available originally in Europe

The 68 911 S was not available in the US due to emissions controls not being on the car. The Engine numbers are 4080001 to 4081549.

I have the 1968 Road & Track review of the car from my Dad's magazine collection. As I remeber, the "S" did not meet the emissions specs at idle..
