Heat backdate...how to on the cheap????

I live in Arizona so I don't need a lot of heat just some. When I lift the heat levers in between the seats the heat comes out of the footwells as long as the car is moving along and the RPS are in the 2500 range. While standing still warming up hardly any volume of air is coming out of the vents.

My question: has anyone engineered a backdate heat duct out of the left side of the fan and what do you do on the right if the car has A/C.

I found a kit on Zims Porsche parts online - dedicated Porsche specialists but it is for both sides and costs $150, there's got to be a less expensive way of doing this.

What can be done using some backyard engineering?

You can head to the porsche dismantler in your area looking for old tin. By the time you find it, clean it up, modify as needed and powdercoat it won't be much cheaper than the kit you've found.

Then again you might just find a perfect set.

heater backdate with AC still installed questions

Right side modification for AC installed cars using the cheaper block off plate (instead of the expensive and unworkable backdate plate).

Edit:
For the left side, there's this option: Heater ”backdate” – the $ 15 alternative

Edit #2: Don't bother with Aircraft Spruce for the sceet tubing. Just do a Google search on "sceet" and you'll find someone cheaper. I found a race shop selling it as NACA tubing, I want to say that 10 feet was something like $65, and that's enough for 2 cars.
