Where are the chrome letters placed on the back lid

The previous owner of my 911E from '69 had all the golden chrome P O R S C H E letters removed... and now I want to replace, but no holes anymore. Does anyone know where these letters are placed on the lid...

Thanks

Søren

Can't give you the measurements, but they go along near the bottom edge of the lid. Try a look at early cars on eBay or this site for photos--very common--at least you can get a visual clue as to where the letters go. With that, you could look very closely at your lid to see where the old holes were, there is likely some evidence of the repair.

This happened on my 67 912. I found that from the rear (backside) of the deck lid I could see the places the holes were filled. I used painters tape on the front and a super small drill to make a small hole and then drilled the regular sized holes from the top.

from my '73. 112mm from the outer edges of the outer letters to the edge of the lid. 69mm from the bottom of the outer letters to the bottom edge of the lid. 74mm from the bottom of the S to the bottom edge of the lid. i laid a 2ft metal ruler across the top from end to end and there is 5mm between the top of the S and the ruler. so it's not in a straight line.
