Problem installing Tarett Sway bar

I am in the process of installing a rear Tarett sway bar in my 1986 Turbo. I fit one side, no problems, but when I try to mount the passenger side, it stops about 1/4 to 1/2 in shy of the stock mount. I realize that the bar is hitting the tranny mount. Has anyone had this issue? Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks
Steve

On the turbo you typically have to space down the bearing blocks for clearance. Use some flat washers, both sides.
