Sad day for my 911 today

Yep. Today was a sad day for my 911 today.
Passed a milestone.

Thought about parking it at 50k and never touching it again.
Aww...who the hell am I kidding?

now what?

.

On another note, she went through emissions the other day for the last time. Passed with flying colors. Better than most new cars, he said. The last time, I was told that if I drove through a long tunnel, the air coming out would be cleaner than the air going in...
this time, I was told that I could run it in a closed garage with no problem for hours without any ill effects to occupants.
I'm not at home, so I can't scan and post the results paper...

Note to self: Don't take advice from folks who work behind a tailpipe all day...

Funny. Almost as funny as having a 911 and not driving it, but in a different way.

I had a collector car once. Less than 10,000 miles when I bought it, less than 700 made. When it hit 11,000 miles, I stopped driving it.

A couple of years later, I sold it. I don't want to do well with my cars.

I want to have fun.

BTW, I thought there was something wrong with your car. I was ready to support you with picking up the pieces. Glad that is not the case.

Hard to believe a car built in 1985 runs cleaner than most new cars.

I'll take your word for it but what does that say about new cars?

The only thing sad about the situation is that you haven't driven it 150,000 miles.

Well, that's cool. Now, go out and drive that car. Put miles on it. Really.

My 74 911 just turned an is a 16 miles (+100K), Engine strong and never been rebuilt. As the second owner, I just put on my first 16 miles like the original owner did back in 74 . . . sweet!

Wolfe,
50K...it's now properly broken in. I felt the same way at 200K.......I'm now just shy of 240K on my 77S...almost a daily driver.

Regards,
al

Yup, pretty much just broken in.

(This would be a good time to post gratuitous pictures of the car.)
