Temp Sensor for left heaterbox?

Can't seem to find it on out host's site, it's the small sensor held on by two rivets with two wires running from it..

I rehabbed my boxes but the wires are broken off inside the sensor tube..

Funny guy. Well, using deductive reasoning I have two P-cars in my signature and one is a project in progress. Pick either P-car, it's the little sensor riveted (two rivets) onto the left heater control box in the engine compartment fed by two small wires in a white harness... this will be my 1,612th spam.

Well, Gary, I have a 81sc and have no sensor in mine and your signature has two 78 and a bemer. No sensor that I know of in a 78-83 sc. Are you talking about the engine blower switch?

James: you obviously do not have autoheat in your '81SC or you would know exactly what Gary is talking about.

Thanks Brian, it turns out it is for auto-heat and as I have the levers, cables, and manual boxes after talking to my shop i'm just going to delete it rather than bother with it (DC Auto had a used one for $100, screw that!).. not a necessary item.

Gary,

I checked the price of that sensor about 15 years ago, and it was north of $220 then. I recently replaced the sensor with a thermistor from Digi-Key for about a dollar and some fabrication labor. If you are interested, I can walk you thru that replacement.

Thank you Brian, i'm going to go ahead and weld up the hole and go manual. I believe there is a temp sensor that goes up front somewhere to make the whole thing work and that is long gone...

No, I don't have the auto heat. And if Gary said that first I would not have bothered him. Sorry. I did find the temp sensor in the PET, illistration 908-00 if that helps.

You didn't "bother" me and I was plenty clear. If you had a specific question for me to help clarify it for you I would have been happy to. To insinuate I was a spammer I assumed was supposed to be funny, at least that's how I took it. If not, next time look at the join date and number of posts, or do a search on the name if you think someone is playing games. Or say nothing if you have nothing constructive to add.
I always appreciate any attempt at help, whether its spot on or not!

Gary I don't judge people by how many posts they have on here. Many "1000" posters ask funny quite basic questions and yes that was a joke referring to several resent spammer posts on here, just a joke.
I also ask silly questions or what seems simple to others baffle me. That's the joy of this forum!
In the future you might add "on my 78 auto heat system, Can't seem to find it on out host's site, it's the small sensor held on by two rivets with two wires running from it."
that would help everybody on what were talking about. I found the sensor in the PET in about 3 minutes. That way we all win, I learn something and you get the answer to your question. Enjoy the fall season in Connecticut, I know how beautiful it is!
