Nicely packaged too.

Quick question on the finish: I have the standard/original badge and on the face of the glossy black center background you can see what looks like color sanding marks? The face is pretty close to glossy/shiny looking, but looking at a side angle you can really see these scuffs over the entire face of the badge where it looks like who ever did the final polishing missed this ...

If you've ever cut and polished paint, it looks like the semi-glossy finish after the 1st pass with compound. The material is glossy but the finish is almost matte with sanding scratches on the side angle..

Anyone else have/see this? Is this how it's supposed to be?

I'll try to take a picture ASAP and post it up for review

Not trying to be a PIA, I really appreciate the monumental effort in getting these made, I just want to be sure we're representing the Plot!

Thanks Shane!

That's fine. I know the badgemaker has been watching the thread so maybe he will be able to answer.

got mine today and installed it. very high quality piece. maybe it was your camera, maybe the flash, maybe the exposure time, but my "black chrome" really looks black, much darker than the posted photo. i know the quality on this sucks as it was taken with my iphone with just an overhead garage door light and a handheld flashlight but it is no where near the shot you put up shane, even in bright light in my office.

i just noticed that the outside lettering is done in red on mine, not black as in your picture. my pic is not the best to show it but there is a big difference in the red color of the badge and the copper color of my car. are there versions with black lettering? that was really what i wanted.

Kris,

Sorry about your disappointment. My camera did not do the black chrome edition much justice. Shot was in the sun and kind of washed it out. The outside lettering on the black chrome version is red to tie in to the center lettering. If you would rather trade for the original version, I will do that. Or I can refund your money if you would prefer. Either is fine with me... your call.

Got mine yesterday. Thanks Shane! Love the weight / quality. Very well done and your effort is much appreciated.

Here is a pic of the two options side by side. I purchased one of each.

I agree with nineball. The black chrome isn't right. While nice, it doesn't look like the example presented to us when we were placing order. However, it might be the perfect fit for my father's red/black 79 SC!

Thanks for the feedback guys. I am really sorry about the "black" edition not being quite like you were expecting. I am stuck at work again (5th weekend in a row now) and will not get home until late tonight. Let me figure out where I placed the sample black chrome badge and check it against the production ones. They were going to tweak the red a LITTLE in the outside lettering as it was almost black, but was supposed to match the inside red on the "SC", but it looks like the black part may have gotten darker and the red a LOT brighter in the process. I will check with Mark to see if there is anything they can do (maybe refire them) to make the outer red darken up more.

Agree with you though MCA, the black will look hot on a black, red, white or even silver car.

if anyone else is not happy with the black version they received, please let me know and I will exchange it for the regular polished finish or refund your money. Sorry it turned out different from the pics posted initially.

On that note, it is still a really cool looking badge and would look great on several colors of our beloved SC's. I have a few of each style left and will be posting a FS in the classified section in a few.

Thanks, Shane

I gave my father the choice between the original and the black. He selected the black for his red/black SC. Therefore I won't need to exchange anything.

Thanks!

Is the black one the same as the logo you send me yesterday?

If so... How much and when?

JJ,

The image I sent yesterday (minus the blue glow if present on that graphic) was the basis for the original polished design - which is NOT the black one. The black one was an experiment but I still like it. However, if you want one to match closer to the original design, you want the polished badge with black infill in the center. Price is $41 shipped in US. Send me email with a Paypal address and I will send you an invoice. If you'd rather pay by check, just send me a note by email to shane@scwdp.com

Shane, I am disappointed.

Got my badge and it looks great, packaging and nuts and bolts, all is well.

Picture looks just like what I have got.

Then I go and install it and what do you know, not a freaking Carrera in sight to dominate.

Surely you could have thought of that!

So does this mean that SCWDP is no longer correct and it should be SCWD? Is this another spelling mistake?

Thanks for all your efforts! It really is nice.

PS did you know that it is cheaper to send a badge from the US to Belgium then it is to send a registered mail from one Belgian address to another!
