Pete:

I had heard about your misfortune awhile back.
Kind of reminded me of the time I blew up my brand new 2.7 RS motor with zero miles on it.
Kind of crushed me at the time.
We all move on....as we must.

Really looking forward to making a road trip this summer from Portland to come down to Golden Gate region and see your car and watch it run.
Hope that happens?

I'll bring my lowly 73 RSR hotrod w/ 3.6RS Vram for comparisons.
Can't wait to hang out with you guys.

Good luck with the rest of your remodel/rebuild.
I am sure it will be stunning.
Take care.
-Doug

Interesting. I believe that Quaif also makes a quick ratio rack. I am curious to hear your feedback on its use.

Sorry to hear about the off, my wife put or car into a tire wall the first trip to the track after a 3 year build. She to was ok and the car was repaired and everything is great now.

Quick question on your build, what did you guys do for a speedometer (speedo and pickup) with your 6 speed conversion? I am converting my car to a G50-6 and am not sure what to do for a speedo or the pickup at the trans end.

Thanks

I'm also not certain where they sourced the LED lights. I know it's not a totally straightforward replacement...

Unfortunately it looks like I won't make the 1 Jan drive- I'll be away skiing and they're finishing up the gauges, etc. I'll be at most of the GGR autocrosses when those start up again, and I'd love to give rides as an instructor if you guys are driving

Another detail- the motorsports ECU has provision for three maps, and we've got a switch to toggle between them with an indicator light in the gauges. So we can flip between 100, 95 and 91 octane maps depending on the fuel available. Nice feature...

-Pete
I think I found them!

What rear flare is that on your car? They do not look as wide as 930 and are much wider than SC flares. I wish I could find some steel flares like the carbon ones you have on your car.

Nice build by the way. I need to stay away from threads like this, otherwise I will be going broke.

The rear flares are custom. Wider than SC, narrower than turbo as you say, also subtly shifter rearwards to accommodate the longer wheelbase.

I had the car out at sears point this weekend for a test and tune day, and it's feeling much more sorted. We made a number of changes to the car during the down time, and all seem very positive. Plenty of sideways action and noise- good times. More coming soon...

Thanks. More to come soon, but I like leaving the three black stripes under power in this one

That's a shame Brit, I was hoping to hear how the new motor fared in anger. I suspect you'll need to go through some of the same setup I did to get all of that power down. Mine's getting it to the ground nicely now. Which means I'm about ready for more
