I love these conversions, especially since I have great memories of touring the US in my parents 1970s pop-top VW Bus.
Does anybody have any pics of a Bus done up with a sweet camping interior (fridge, stove, sink seats and bed...) that would be awesome to go along with the power and handling.

SxS: What's the question? The second link doesn't work.
Dan: There is a red pop top with a 3.2 a few pages back.
The Porsche motor in a bus conversions has been picked up by a few German tuners using the Eurovan. The first conversion I saw was by Ruf. There must be some demand as the conversions are in the $150-250K range. Here is a old Ruf video: VW T4 RUF - YouTube

Found this VW bus on craigslist in my area. Reportedly has a Porsche engine. For $2200 could be a worthy project.

Well this hasn't been up dated in a while. Living at 7,000 ft. I felt the need to turbo. Modified 3.3 with about 400 c.h.p. Wevo built 911 5 speed. Also did a new dash. Front suspension project in the werks. Converted to a 911 steering rack a few years ago. I picked up a Smart Racing Fox Shox set up a few months back, the next thing will be the ERP front control arms.

Thought I'd up date this thread with some suspension eye candy. I installed a 911 rack & pinion a few years ago, now getting around to converting the suspension.

While I love all these examples my favorite are the early buses that are in primer or seriously needing paint work just because you’d never expect them to be able to outrun anything. Serious sleepers!!
I love the concept and the ingenuity that goes into these conversions and have huge respect for whoever was the original pioneer in doing this and the ones that followed closely behind.
Very nice and entertaining thread
