RPM readings using - LM-2 RPM Inductive clamp and MSD 6AL??

Is anyone getting correct RPM readings using a LM-2 with the inductive clamp and a MSD 6AL? I also have Petronix igniter and Magnacore 8.5mm wires.

I have noticed from their forums that this a common problem but very frustrating. Some have said they have no problem, others like me get constantly fluctuating readings and readings that are way too high.

If you are, what settings are you using? Any other tricks.

Is there a way to set it up directly without the clamp and get a normal reading?

Not sure about the LM-2, but my LM-1 allows me to simply splice into the tach signal wire. I made a simple little "Y" harness that plugs into my tach, the LM-1, and the signal wire.
