80sc brake problem

I need to overhaul the brake caliper on my 80 sc. On the drivers front , when I spin the rotor it doesn't want turn freely. The Bentley book does not have much. Any suggestions

I would suggest you check the wheel bearing condition while you are in there.
They may actually be the cause of the binding.

There should be a slight drag on the rotor when you spin it by hand. The pads kind of rest on the rotor even when you are not using the pedal.

If the force to turn it is excessive or the force differs from side to side, then you likely have a sticky caliper. Check the rubber soft brake lines as these fail from the inside out and swell shut, trapping fluid pressure in the caliper.
