FINALLY!!! Just like everyone said...I cracked the 1/2" breaker bar but it was all I could find. Found a 3/4" this morning (expensive!) but it did the job, with a 4' pipe extension. That nut was really on there.

Bottom line...when Pelicanheads tell you "been there, done that" it's best to just listen and do as told.
Now for the fun of actually taking everything apart removing the CV bolts.
