The 930 part has the large cutout for the a/c condenser ducting so you won't be gaining much.
Try either of the first 2

On that picture of your latch support, it's a pretty good shot of the second grill backside but I'm not seeing all the holes for the grill. The fiberglass work looks factory. Can you see if the unusual support bracket is spot welded?

Here is a pic of the small grill opening. it had clips on the corners for screws, plus the center had holes as seen...one with what looks like what's left of a rivit.

I'll see if I can get a good shot of that area.

Does anyone make a good reproduction version of this tail?

What about the rubber part?

Thanks,

There are reproductions of the tail, but the rubber lip has been NLA for a long time now - good luck finding a nice example. Whoever tools up to reproduce the rubber lip will probably do well, given the popularity of this tail. The approach I have taken is to use a one-piece tail where the lip is rendered in fiberglass and integrated into the main body - it can always be painted with a satin paint to mimic the original rubber, which is what I will try to do. I like the fact that I can repair fiberglass and repaint in the future, whereas the rubber lips tend to warp/sag and the metal spine inside them is prone to corrosion. I've also seen very few examples where the rubber seamlessly meets the fiberglass base.

This is the style of tail I am referring to:

This is the one I want but I don't think it got beyond the prototype stage.
(NOTE: The hooks and clamp. This is easily removable)

Has anyone seen one of these in real life?

Where do you find the repro w/o the second grill opening? The only one I've seen lately has a small recess for the smaller version of the 2nd grill.

Betterbodies, down here in San Diego has a mold for the 2nd-grille-less tail, as used on the early Carrera. They don't advertise it on their website but I've seen it in their store and they said they could make one for $500. I have no idea what the quality/fitment is like.

Hmm, I don't seem to recall much good feedback on Betterbodies stuff. But might have to chance it.

Thanks Ferrino.

The only other US supplier I've seen is GT Racing. No idea about quality, haven't seen one in person. It's molded for a dummy second grill, but the grill itself is extra.

Repro tail

Mine looks like repro from gt racing but i may be wrong. I just had the tail lip painted black so it would look like rubber

Oops looking at the pictures above mine did not come with 2nd grilles so definitely not gt racing. mine looks like weissach repros no markings since last time i checked
