Carrera front Valence on an SC?
Did a search, no definitive answer.
Does anyone know if a Carrera front valence (84-89) will fit on an earlier SC (78-83) or even a midyear (74-77)? Without modifying other stuff? I've heard people say that you have to change out the trombone cooler, horns and w-washer reservoir. True? Not? Thank you very much. |

On a ’79 SC with 7x16 in front:

I put the 84-89 Carrera valance on my 77. I had to change the windshield washer reservoir to the Carrera reservoir as it's smaller than the original. Otherwise everything else lined up.

I have a Carrera valance on '81SC. Aesthetically a significant step forward from the SC valance.

This is true - did it on my '77. Note that you'll also have to re-route the plumbing for the windshield washer nozzles as the pump is attached directly to the tank starting in 84 instead of in the trunk. Or that could have been for the headlight washers - I don't remember which now.
