Retrofit A/C in an early car?

I have a very nice 73.5 911 Coupe that is a real joy to drive and a beautiful car. I would love to start using this car as a daily driver, but the problem is that here in Southern California it's only March and we are already beginning to see pretty warm weather in the San Fernando Valley (not that I'm complaining). I love the car and really want to start driving it more frequently, as it is so easy compared to some of the MFI and carbureted cars I have. Car did not originally come with air conditioning, but I am considering trying to retrofit a system. Putting aside issues related to the compressor (which I will likely update to a rotary style) and the drier (which I would also update), how complicated is this and how much "damage" is done to the car? I don't want to do any cutting. Can anyone enlighten me on the different parts needed and the distinction between "factory" and "dealer" installed A/C in early cars? Thanks
