Installing a mechanical brake light switch Q
For those who have done this. Which wire/wires on the brake light switch do you splice into.
I have an 1981SC which has three prong switches on the MC? Read some articles on this with some good pics but none on the MC switch wires. I want to make sure I'm doing it right. Thanks Barclay |

Can't you just splice into the brake light wire in the engine compartment?

I am not at home right now but if you have a wiring diagram you can figure out the wire that goes back to the brake light and what I did is unplug one of the plugs off the master cylinder and plug one wire into the feed to the supply at the plug and run it down to the switch and then the other side of the switch back up to the side of the plug that goes to the brake light. The feed will have 12 volts on it constant the other wont but if you run a jumper to the battery will turn on the brake lights.
