Vent? Question
What is this vent for?
Also, it appears to have some foam inside. Can these be replaced or do they even need to be there? TIA ![]()

It's a cockpit vent. It draws the air out of the cabin through the rear part of the headliner. As for necessity I would figure that it is useful in reducing buffeting when driving with the windows down and probably helps with cabin air flow when using the heat. On race cars this has been cleaned up aerodynamically by putting in a flush plexiglass rear window.

RWebb,
What can I use to replace it? I'm doing a bare metal repaint and there is only 1 1/2 pieces left in there. I guess I could just pick some foam... this stuff looks fairly weathered/desintigrated. Must be why they used a perforated headliner?
