Are there dumb questions ??

just thinking as i responded to a thread about engine warming up at idle in the garage and the question came up as to why not idle it to warm it up prior to driving??

So out of curiosity,

how many of you(you can remain anonymous) have ever or haven't read the owners manual for your car???

which leads to the post ?? is it a dumb question if the answer to the ? is in your glove box ????

Here we go ......................................

I don't have an owner's manual, but I've never let my car or bike idle to warm it up. I drive it gently until operating temp is appropriate for an increase in spirit, until it's fully warm, then it's on.

But to answer your question, yes there are dumb questions....especially if one has the answer.

Sorry, had to share because it came in just as I was reading this!

Yesterday I was buying 2 large bags of Purina dog chow at Wal-Mart for my dogs Shadow and Lady.

I was about to check out when a woman behind me asked if I had a dog.

What did she think, that I had an elephant?
Since I had little else to do, on impulse, I told her that No, I didn't have a dog - that I was starting the Purina Diet again, although I probably shouldn't because I ended up in the hospital last time.
On the bright side though, I'd lost 50 pounds before I awakened in intensive care with tubes coming out of every hole in my body and IVs in both arms.

I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way that it works is to load your pockets with Purina nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry and that the food is nutritionally complete so I was going to try it again.
(I have to mention here that practically everyone in the line was enthralled with my story by now.)

Horrified, She asked : "Did you end up in intensive care because the dog food had poisoned you?"

I said: No not at all; I had stopped in the middle of the parking lot to lick my ass and a car hit me.

The guy behind her was laughing so hard, I thought he was going to have a heart attack!

WALMART won't let me shop there anymore.

My apologies for the 'dumb' question then in the other post.....

But isn't that what these forums are for, to ask questions & get information and opinions?

Yes. Absolutely. There is no dumb question if you have done your best to find the answer, and can't.

A couple of years ago I mentioned to my wife that I was thinking about getting a Boxster.

She said: "You mean you would sell your 911?"

I said: "No. It would be my daily driver."

She said: "Why would you want 2 Porsches?"

I said: "You know, you often hear people say there are no stupid questions. Well that was a stupid question!"

She was not pleased.

I said: well, you can guess...
