JB weld is not the solution this is a old mag case with lots of expansion and contraction. add oil and heat and vibration and you have a recipe for destruction.
if it can be welded go for it other than that replace it and move on. sorry to here this but we have all been in a bad pinch, this is time to take a deep breath and say whooosaa whooosaa , cheers ed

I've had success welding a few mag parts (alt fan housings and fans) I have a TIg and two suitable types of Mag welding rods. I forget the perferable type but it was recommended by George at Ollies and this type of rod worked well. I need to check my notes in the man cave. If you clean the parts and pay for shipping I'll weld it for free as pay back for all this board has offered me throught the years. Next time you punch a hole you have to pay for my services. |

Just a question, can that hole be rounded up to a standard freeze plug size?
