Hate to bore you all, but here is my account from about two or three years back, that I wrote for the RTR newsletter:

There were a few Porsches out there, but most seemed to be lying in wait. For god knows what. Actually, I do know what. They were waiting to travel down in groups. This is a big no-no. Two rules here. You don’t dine out in groups larger than six, and you most certainly do not travel with more than one other car at a time. It just gets too cumbersome, and the logistics begin to overshadow the intent, which is to get to Hershey with a minimum of BS. So instead of linking up on the web, the best idea here is to just hit the road, and then let fate deliver you the ideal traveling companion. I have had more great runs that just started with nothing more than two competent cars and drivers sharing the same stretch of asphalt at the same given point in time. Try it. You’ll like it.

Fellow RTR member here, though I joined after you wrote this.

I agree with this in general principle, and also because large single-marque packs often attract law enforcement attention whether warranted or not.

However, I'm going to be one of those who'll be trying to travel in a group this year. I plan on driving my early 911 there and, should I run into any mechanical problems, traveling in a pack of early 911s (with, I assume, some drivers with technical expertise with same) will give me a little piece of mind.

Last year at the Fall Hershey AACA meet, we found a really decent place in Harrisburg. It is called Bricco's, and is at 31 S. 3rd Street(717-724-0222). They cover all bases, from individual pizza's all the way up to higher end stuff like steaks and such.

My favorite was the "Gyro Pizza". Just so good. But be forewarned, after eating one you will be burping and farting for a while.

Gerry Regenelli and I will be driving from upstate NY. 4 a.m. early drive time, rain or shine. Bringing cash to negotiate for parts. 1st time for Porsche swap meet, have been there before for hot rods. Looking forward to it.
