stabilizer bar how to

I am replacing the bushings for my front stabilizer bar. After much effort I got the bar out of the bushings. However, I am having trouble getting the bar back into the bushings. The manual says to push one end in first then the other. When I push one end in, the bar appears too wide by about an inch to go in on the other side. I am referring to the bushings closest to the front of the car. Any advice will be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Sneedster

agreed a little more info needed. Are you talking diameter? Bentley mentions using Contifix or rubber lube btw but are you talking mechanical obstruction?
