Just installed Turbo Tie Rods, need help with alignment

I just installed a 'better' steering rack and new turbo tie rods on my 78SC. Does anyone know of a simple method for getting the alignment close, just to get it to a shop for a professional alignment?

Well, unless your alignment shop is many many miles away, I'd do it by eye;

1) Make sure your steering wheel is straight and true (spokes in horizontal position).

2) Make sure your wheels look straight and true.

3) Check your brakes, in case you disturbed them while replacing the tie-rods - unlikely but better safe than sorry!

4) Drive car slowly and carefully to the alignment shop.

Unless you are well out, there really shouldn't be anything too dangerous about driving a short distance carefully.

for a quicky eyeball alignment, straighten the steering wheel, kneel down at the front corner of the car and sight down the front and rear edges of the front tire to see where it lines up with the rear tire. adjust the sight line so it lines up about 1" in on the rear tire on an SC or carrera. and 1/8" on earlier narrow body cars. that will get you close so you can drive it safely to the alignment shop.

Make sure that the steering wheel is straight, and then make sure that the fronts of the tires are the same width as the rears of the tires. This should be close to zero toe-in, and should be good enough to get you to the alignment shop without any major problems.

Hey, have tierods, want to install.
Pointers?
Do I need the "special" to pull the old rods or can I do it without? Also, anyone out there suggest bushings for front suspension? I've seen the poly, but would prefer the rubber.
