Blaupunkt Stereo Security Code Entry Procedure - help!

Been a decent day up to now. I finally nailed down the wiring on my replacement Hirschmann antenna and now it works perfectly as designed. But, in the process of all of this, I cannot for the life of me figure out the code entry procedure. I have my tag, but cannot get radio past the "code" display. My Blaupunkt unit is the non-Porsche Monterey cassette radio, but I think lots of them were similar in code entry process. I know I have seen it on here somewhere before, but I have come up empty on my search attempts. Help!

Try This

Using pre-set buttons 1 thru 4, enter your code by hitting each pre-set the appropriate number of times corresponding to your radio code. For instance, if the first digit of your radio code is '5', hit pre-set button #1 five times. Repeat the procedure for each of the other three digits using pre-set buttons 2 thru 4 until the four digit code is entered. When all four digits are entered, hit the 'search' button to end the sequence.

Your radio may be different but this may work.

that does not work on mine until after some other button sequence is pushed. Mine comes up with "code" displayed first. To advance it to the "0000" display, where I can then use the method you described for numeric entry of the code, I have to press a button sequence - that is what I cannot remember...

Try SWStereo

You might drop the guys at SW STEREO SPECIALISTS - European Car Audio Products an email. I had a question on my Reno 46 radio and they were very helpful.

Shane,

Have you contacted Blaupunkt?

They are very helpful.

I've got a Newport (SQR 29), and here's what my owners manual says:

(1) Turn radio on, CodE is displayed
(2) Press one of the first four preset buttons, "CodE" will disappear, and "0000" will appear in the radio display
(3) After "0000" is displayed, enter the security code which is shown on the front of this manual using the first four station preset button. Use button 1 to set the first digit of the four-digit code, button2 to set the second, etc. Press each button the number of times needed to enter that digit.
(4) Finally, press station preset button 5. Now the raio frequency will appear in the display and the radio is ready for operation.

Note: Entering the security code must be done within 1 minute. If not, or a false code is entered 3 times, "CodE" will appear in the radio display. Repeat the entire procedure again.

Hope this helps.

OK, I have (or had) the Blaupunkt San Francisco SQR28 radio in my Targa. Here is what works to enter the code and get the radio to operate.
(1) Turn radio on, CodE is displayed on screen.
(2) Press and hold for 2-3 minutes the #1 button of the preset buttons, "CodE" will disappear, and "0000" will appear in the radio display. Your finger will feel like it is going to fall off.
(3) After "0000" is displayed, enter the security code using the first four station preset buttons. Use button 1 to set the first digit of the four-digit code, button2 to set the second, etc. Press each button the number of times needed to enter that digit.
(4) Finally, press station preset button 5. Now the radio frequency will appear in the display and the radio is ready for operation.

Note: Entering the security code must be done within 1 minute of the 0000 appearing. If not, or if a false code is entered 3 times, "CodE" will appear in the radio display. Repeat the entire procedure again. You may need to turn the ignition key off and wait a minute before trying again. This will reset or reboot the radio.

Hope this helps.
