Thoughts on Project #80
Regarding Project #80 in Wayne's 101 Projects for your Porsche 911 (replacing the front windshield). . .
Wayne rates it at a 4 Mechanic (not for the novice- or feint of heart) I need to replace the front trim and rubber seal in my 1975 S. Getting the window out in one piece will be a snap but before I do that . . . I would like to pick the group's collective mind about getting the window back in. I had a similar situation back when I had my '83 SC. I ended up calling a "Professional" to come and do it. However, I stopped him when he started pounding the aluminum molding in with a mallet. I showed him Wayne's Book page 193 (Project 80) and realized I was in trouble when he sat down to read it. I suggested he get someone more familiar with the 911 to come and do it. A week later the boss came, and was able to install the window (AFTER reading Wayne's book). SO Are there any good recommendation for Glass Shops in the LA Area? Are there any good suggestions/additions to Project 80? Any other thoughts ideas? Thanks
