A neat new product I thought I would share

Hello,
I know there are some serious vintage motorsports junkies on this board, so I figured you would be interested in seeing our newest product. While there's a very limited market for something like this, when a guy who owns an original factory racecar approaches you and asks you to make a special NLA part for the car sometimes it's worth the effort. It's not always about manufacturing something that you can sell in volume and make a bunch of money. Sometimes in this business it's just about keeping the old racers on the road.

Nope. These days it's mostly about making it bulletproof. It's our "standard" 4340 chromoly. While Ti would be really cool and really light it just wouldn't be cost effective or of much benefit the way the cars are raced now.

I have a friend who used to work for Vasek at Motorsport who was once telling me about the various "grades" of parts they had for the 917's. He said there were three tiers of parts that were inversely related with respect to strength and weight. He told me there were qualifying parts, which were the lightest. Then there were sprint parts for any race under 6 hours. And then there were endurance parts for the 12 and 24 hour events. According to him generally the Ti stuff was for qualifying, the aluminum parts were for sprints and the steel parts were for endurance. He said it was something that was present in all different areas of the cars such as spindles, wheel nuts, tie rode ends, suspension uprights, etc. etc. I had no idea that they used to go to such lengths.

I missed the joke.

The sample we were given was all Ti, including the flanges. I think it weighed like 8lbs!

Hello,
I had no idea there were so many 935 owners out there looking for an LSD. If I had I would have made these LSDs last year. We sold out of the whole first production run in less than 2 weeks. But worry not, there's a new run being done and I'll have more of these within the month.

In the meantime, you can feast your eyes on our other new turbo product. We just got in 8:41 (5.125) ratio crownwheel and pinion sets. No longer will you have to screw around with those crappy Italian ones that have been floating around the used market the last few years. These are for the 4 speed gearbox and will work for any 930 street box in addition to 935 race boxes.




And lest you 915 guys feel left out, I want you to know we also did an 8:35 (4.375) set for you. No longer do you need to worry about whether or not the teeny little 7:31 (4.428) set from 1973 can hold up to your 300bhp monster engine. Here's modern metallurgy with a bigger head that can take what you can dish out. And being just a tick taller you pick up a few revs without any real sacrifice to acceleration.

I would love to watch the process of how that is made. I suspect there are many guys on this board that would agree. That looks amazing.

I am guessing that was not made in China

No, not made in China. We only work with the best in the industry. Our factory doesn't own a Klingenberg machine, so we went to Ricardo for the ring and pinions.

I just wanted to update and let people know that we're just finishing up another run of these 935 LSDs with flanges. I couldn't believe it, but the last run only lasted 10 days before they sold out. We made a few more this time because I've been getting calls on these for months from people looking for one.

Price has gone up about 10% due to materials costs, but when a factory Titanium spool probably costs 20-30% more than our new LSDs, it's a bargain when you're trying to make your factory racecar a bit more manageable for a mere mortal taking it out at the HSR events, Monterey Historics or the upcoming Rennsport Reunion.

And there's still plenty of the 8:41 R/P sets available as well.
