ID this sway bar drop link - how to adjust?
NOTE; I have never adjusted a sway bar before, so I apologize in advance for potential stupid questions on this matter!!
![]() Could anyone ID this rear sway bar drop link? I assume it is an aftermarket since I understand that the original ones were not adjustable. How do I adjust them? should I losse one year of the drop link> but if so how do you connect again, since the bar would be under tension? My car is a '76 911S. I have upgraded the sway bar and the rear sway bar is 21mm, coming from a Carrera (I think). The drop link were already on my car with the 18mm stock bar. thanks ![]()

there is no tension on it if both rear wheels are level. looks kind of home made, and not very well.

Hi,
Sorry to disappoint you but the unit you have is not an "adjustable" sway bar. An adjustable sway bar allows you to lengthen or shorten the arm that the drop link attaches to. Your drop link can only be adjusted for length. When you car is on the ground, you want the sway bar arms to be parallel to the ground and the threaded section allows you to do that. While not a great picture, you can see the slider on my Weltmeister adjustable rear sway bar below. The part in the bottom of the picture can be loosened and slid forward and back on the Sway bar arm. ![]()
