Garage
Clean your battery terminals, clean the ground behind the battery, clean the ground strap
between the trans. and the body (front side of trans.)
See if that helps.

Norm -

If your car will start in that situation when jumped, I wonder if your alternator is not charging your battery? Have you checked the voltage at various times and stages etc...? I had a similar situation w/my '74 911 a few years ago where it wouldn't crank shortly after a long drive. I could bump start it though - never tried jumping it. After checking the battery voltage at various times, I replaced the starter and the issue disappeared.

Norm
I went thru this on my car. trust me after trouble shooting everything I could and reading a lot of threads I just needed a new starter.
There are lots of threads on heat and starters if you want to take the time.
My wife and I pulled off the 10 on the way to Vegas to stretch our legs and where stranded in the desert for a while the first time this happened to me and I wish I just replaced the starter the next day instead of checking everything else first.
The starter is fairly easy to replace and there is lots of threads on how to do it
Good luck
Steve
