Speed switch on a Carb Engine?

Poking around the engine trying to identify things...

Check out this pic which I think is a speed switch, however I have:

'71 911T Zenith carb to "E" Spec (whatever that means!)
Sportomatic tranny Type 905/20

Perhaps it is a microswitch and should be adjusted per the Haynes manual p.67 Section 35-18?

Right now when the cam is unmoved, it does not activate the switch.

Thanks for your help!

You should see a little solenoid on the right rear (by#6) on the carb that has two wires on it. I forgot what it does but I think it has to do with the enrichment circuit.

Thanks! Getting somewhere... how does one set the adjustment. As it stands, I don't believe the switch ever gets triggered by the throttle cam.

I believe the specs are in the Haynes manual of all places, and the Porsche manual. Any power at the switch? my guess is that it hasn't worked since Bay Watch was on tv.
