1983 911 speedometer problems

Speedometer quit working I pulled it and sent to speedometers plus in LA. Technician there said it worked fine and sent it back to me no charge. Said I should check speedometer cable, I don't think that I have one. He also told me to check ground wire. Any suggestions?

speedo for an 83 is electronic, no cable.
check the connectors at the back of the guage first. also check the wires at the sender on the trans.
Mine had an intermittent problem after I did some work on the fuse box, turned out that I accidently left the 12V supply wire to the dash\guages loose at the fuse block.

Check the connection at the shift coupler.
