Found source: lug nuts for BBS E52 wheels

I bought a set of 16x7 & 16x9 BBS rims for a song on Craigslist, only to find out later that BBS no longer sells the shouldered lug nuts. Here is a picture of one of these wheel centers:

I searched this forum for solutions, and was disappointed by the suggested solutions -- find some used lug nuts, machine the lugs bores to accept acorn-style shoulders, and even fogettaboutit look for other wheels.

So I mic'd the lug bores, and found the following:

Lug Nut Shank Length: 1.095" maximum (depth from inner shoulder to where the wheel meets the hub)

Lug Nut Shank Diameter: 0.75"

Washer Outside Diameter: 1.25" maximum

Using that info, I searched the internet for open end steel lugs and found that Custom Wheel Accessories (714-827-5200) carries them -- part number 5108OP. Since I'm using 100mm length 14mmx1.50 lugs on my Subaru WRX-powered 914 and wanted open-ended nuts, these seemed like the ideal solution. I called ACW on Friday and ordered two full sets (40 lug nuts) and matching chromed washers (part number 6002). With shipping and handling charges, the total was $62.58.

They arrived today, and they appear to fit perfectly. ACW also manufactures closed-end nuts, part #5108.

Here is a pic of the nuts-n-washers:

Wow, that's great info. I have the same wheel type, but have only been able
to find lugs from Jegs, and they needed to be cut as they have too long a shank.
Thanks

You're the man! I just ordered 3 sets for my wheels. I have 1 set of 8.5" x 16" wheels, and another in 10"x17". Had no lug nuts for either set and was considering re-machining the wheels, etc.

Good find!
