Reinforce Pick Up Points

While we have the tank support panel removed we plan to reinforce the front control arm mounts to both stiffen and strengthen.

We would like to have the strengthening inside the pan and not be obvious when the tank support panel is fitted.

Any good ideas ??

the factory fitted a "saddle" strap that was approx 2" wide and was welded across each hump of the front control arm mounts. This effectively doubled the thickness of the mounting points there.

Since you have some experience with working metal , another reinforcement that would help is to make a doubler channel that runs all the way across on the inside. Spot welds along its length should help strengthen the original metal below. The upper metal cover then hides this modification

btw- still waiting for my list
