No more emissions testing!

Car turns 25 this year, just had my last test yesterday. Talk about flying colors! I am shocked at the numbers for HC and CO; not even close to a problem. CO reading at idle registered ZERO; allowable is 1.2%. CO at "cruise" was 0.3; allowable 1.1%. HC at idle was 14; allowable 220 PPM! HC at cruise was 23; allowable 160 PPM!
I should think the lurking cat bypass out there on the garage work bench will still keep my red car green.........

Congratulations. CA used to use the rolling 25yr exemption but now it's 1975 and older. What state are you in?

I can't say. The Governor might get ideas. There is enough money wasted around here already; can't see offering up any such idea....... ...knock on wood....

Cat bypass is weak, go for the SSIs. Go big or go home, right?

Unsubscribed.

Easy Nesslar, it was meant in good humor, not as a insult. I apologize if it was taken the wrong way.

A little background of what I was thinking:

This shows how overly aggressive Porsche was with detuning these motors to meet emissions as it was their first time dealing with electronic fuel injection, and the uncertainty of how it would fare in the long run along with the unknown of what the rules were going to be with respect to future emissions standards.
What is a "California Car"?

If my memory was better I would have called it a Tercel instead.

Cheers,
