Question Paint code question?

I am trying to determine if the color on my 1976 911s is original. The paint code is 334-9-3. Can someone tell me what the color is or where online I might be able to find the codes. Thanks

334 is listed simply as "Metallic Blue" in Paternie's Red Book and it was a special order color. However, I found it for 1975 and prior models but not for '76 on. I suppose that the original owner may have special ordered it for a '76. Hope this helps.

Thanks Rod, the car is in fact metallic blue. When it was sold to me the seller specified the color as Minerva (Caribe) Blue however I have not been able to confirm it because I don't know what the 334-9-3 color looks like. I'm not sure where I can find a color guide to confirm whether the color is correct. Any ideas. Thanks

A good quality paint refinishing/panel shop will have "colour chips" for Porsche. They are a small flip out book (infact they kinda look like a set of feeler guages) that contain about a 1" sample of paint colour and code for each model year.

Hope that helps

It looks like the code for Minerva Blue is 304, not 334, which is listed as Blue Metallic Clearcoat.

cheers
